Weather

Mostly cloudy, moderate northwest winds with strong gusts and increasing visible snow transport throughout the morning. Temps in the mid-upper teens.

Snowpack

40cm storm snow at 10,800'. It's beginning to settle and gain strength, but still F hardness. On an exposed east aspect, the new snow is sitting on a melt-freeze crust. This interface was producing clean and planar shears in moderate compression and tilt. No activity or signs of instability skiing NE-E facing slopes. As soon as we got on SE aspects, small storm slabs were easily ski cut on the crust, but were not propagating.
