snowpack over in this valley is overall very wind effected. hs ranges from 120 on ne aspect to completley scoured ridges and faces. confirmed two suspect layers in the upper 40 cm of the pack with SP fracture characters and varible loading steps. no recent avalanche activity... looks like one path near chalk creek pass ne aspect ran r5 during the big december storm... observed snowmobilers high marking on a 40 degree, 2,000' ne aspect slope... with no results. Almost every bit of snow has been altered by the wind...
