are of a release which happened Monday, 2/21. The release was triggered by a Continental Divide Snowmobile Club member riding across the lower 1/4 of the slope. You can see the tracks in and out. No one w/ the group we rode with yesterday from the club had seen this slope slide, however Greg Austin from our Gunnison Office and I had both felt the slope has potential. The Site is approximately 1 mile west of Hill 71 in the Gunnison N.F., in the west half of section 30, T43 N, R 3 W or 37 degrees, 55 minutes North by 107 degrees, 15 minutes West. Conditions yesterday were heavy wind scour, with TG snow just below the surface to ground. Where tracks had been made before, the crust was solid, but outside that, the crust was very thin.
