Snowpack
At least 30 inches of new snow, more in places. As I neared timberline, snow became more wind affected. Ski penetration 12-16 inches. Collapsing in all areas, propogating 100+ feet and shaking snow off the trees in some cases. On low-consequence slopes I was able to get 24-32 inch deep slabs to slide, with an audible 'crack'. Shooting cracks in other areas. Dug a pit at 11,500 on a NE aspect. Snow depth 64". Last week's surface hoar buried and intact resulting in clean shears 32" down. Also- noticed that the East bowl near the summit of Mt. Bross above Moose Creek slid again, crown beginning to fill in, maybe 2-3 feet deep- at least the 4th time it has slid this season.
