Snowpack
Warm temperatures and cloudy skies kept the melt going along Hwy 133. The snowpack was spring-like and punchy. Winds were not doing much to cool the surface at this altitude. Soft crusts on the surface with moist snow down at least 50 cm. Foot pen 30 cm. A few small wet loose slides released in the Crystal and along the grade on the north side of the pass. Lots of bare ground showing through on steep sun-exposed slopes below 9,500 ft. Wet activity below treeline seems likely tomorrow with another cloudy night on tap, and lots of sun and warm temperatures in the forecast.
