Snowpack
Snowpack instability tests revealed very reactive soft wind slabs on SE and E aspects just above treeline in this area, but I did not observe any recent avalanches. Strong NW and W winds have scoured most NW-W-SW aspects above treeline, but there are isolated hard slabs in cross-loaded gullies. SE and E aspects near treeline harbor soft slabs that overlie shallow and weak faceted snow, but they did not show any sign of propagation propensity. This area in the far eastern portion of the zone got about half as much snow (~6") as the central portion of the zone (~12") this storm.
