Weather

Geneva Basin, ESE aspect, 11,600ft. Temps while I was there, Hi-36degrees, low-11degrees. Wind increased through the day as I climbed, calm at treeline and increased to about 10mph at 11,900ft. Clear. There was significant wind etching from WNW winds

Snowpack

Geneva Basin, ESE aspect. I dug a pit at 11,600ft on a 27degree slope. I forgot my saw so I was unable to isolate columns. The profile below felt relatively consistent on the ESE aspect as I probed during my approach 105cm snowpack 15cm Surface hoar 48cm wind slab knife hard 21cm 4 finger hard 21cm depth hoar, fist hard to the ground Below tree line the wind slab was significantly less prevalent during my skiing.

Avalanche

Geneva Basin, ESE aspect, 11,600ft. None observed, stayed at 30degree slopes and below. If the wind slab goes it will go all of the way to the ground.
