Weather

Partly cloudy conditions today, following a light-snow event from the previous day (1-2 inches). Much warmer today! Reaching 34F at Pass level. Westerly winds were moving snow in the alpine mainly above treeline. Snow was moving even though it seems there's not much left for transport. Winds were light below treeline at Pass level.

Snowpack

TEMPS: Warm temps at Pass level warmed snow surfaces at lower elevations on all but North aspects. Brief sunshine and managed to triggered roller-balls in the Blue Point group (often protected this time of year). WINDS: Over the past week, wind damage to the alpine snowpack is dramatic. Much snow has been stripped from almost all aspects above treeline - esp high north, south and west. On a quick trip up McMillan, noted significantly less snow than just 4 days ago. Also found cornice development in isolated features.
