Weather

Date was 5/7/17. Started at Winfield at approximately 6:45 am. Weather was sunny with some cloud cover until approximately 11:30 when clouds collected.

Snowpack

Noted cracks and fissures in slabs while walking a very shallow slope. The snow sounded hollow as I walked on it and I did see some rolling balls. I didn't hear any whompfs, but I didn't go above 11,000' after seeing the avalanche above me on Huron.

Avalanche

Saw two avalanches. One on the Western aspect of Mt. Huron from approximately 13,500' through approximately 12,500'. The other was on the South aspect of Virginia Peak, running approximately 12,500' through approximately 11,500'.
