At Fowler/Hilliard Hut about a mile and a half west of the avalanche, heavy snow started to fall at 6AM 1/11/2013. A strong gusty wind from the west continued to bring 6 inches of light snow by 10AM. The sky cleared but the wind continued with 20 to 30 mile/hour gusts. Observation of a small avalanche that had already slid was observed from junction of forest road #751 and #702. The slide occurred after 1/9/2013 and before 1pm 1/11/2013.
