Weather

Broken skies with some fog. cold temps, 9 F on top of Aspen at 3 pm. Calm wind and height of storm snow from recent unsettled weather 15 cm low density.

Snowpack

shifted between E to SE aspects from 11300 feet to 9800 feet. No Whoomfs or shooting cracks. supportive snow for skiing. Deep boot penetration relative to snowpack height. approx 15 cm of new from recent light storms with breakable crusts underneath new snow on solar aspects. slab resistance is to 4 F with depth hoar and old crusts underneath. Non reactive to extended column tests at 10800 feet. HS 85 cm here. skinned back up track breaking trail through drier snow regime. From 9800 to 10200 No Whoomfs or shooting cracks. pole probing showed the strong over weak structure with weak snow in lower third. Slab did not feel exceedingly stiff but over all deeper with HS to 120.
