winds increasing by end of the day. COLD WIND in any exposed areas. and cold also.
Snowpack
in ene <tl we witnessed moderate cracking and collapsing on anything that had any sort of wind. one large crack (e facing) propagated on facets, from a ridgeline, into a 32* convexity with no results. non wind affected areas remained crack free. no signs of instability on s facing, but obvious cross loaded slopes were avoided. the snow is starting to settle/drift into soft slabs with a (very) few hard slabs forming near ridgelines. cornices were sensitive and growing. noticed large sh on surface of sw and w facing <tl towards end of the day.
Avalanche
multiple ss-n-r1-d1 on n, w, and nw aspects <tl and ntl. also some sluffs on ene <tl. one ss of note ran approx 1000 vert straight into the blow hole.
