8-16 new snow settled from previous 4/5 days on top of older snowpack

Avalanche

Boarded pretty much center bowl, slightly skiers right to where most riders had been over the last couple days. Approx 1/3 way down glanced up to ridge, no slide triggered. Half way down, traversed back skiers left to slightly lower angle where I felt safe to stop. Looked up and saw fracture and slide begin where I had been riding, to my right. Was in a safe spot to observe slide. Looks to have slid on old slide path. Crown 8/12" and ran on the ground. Approx 150 ft across and ran 300-400 ft long.
