Weather

Bluebird, low wind, at or above freezing at mountain tops. Strong solar input

Snowpack

Shady North through East facing slopes BTL still hanging on to some cold, powdery snow. All other aspects have a wet surface, producing melt water.

Avalanche

Observed several wet loose avalanches in the southern Gore Range from Vail mountain. All occurring on south through west facing slopes ATL and appeared to be originating from rocks, cliffs and cornices towards the top of avy paths. Notable observations: every west and southwest facing gully/path on the Grand Traverse ran, all roughly R2D2. A larger slide on southwest face of Mount Solitude (R3D3) was observed, a much larger debris pile then other slides may indicate it stepped down and it was the only slide with a visible fracture and did not originate from rocks or cliffs.
