Gusty winds, temp -3C at vehicle, -4C below ridgeline. Very cold with windchill.

Snowpack

South and west aspects below treeline: wind affected surface snow with 10-15cm soft Wind Slab on exposed slopes. Average height of snow 155cm. South aspects near treeline: highly variable snowdepth 40-170cms. Three prominent mfc, at 15,60 and 120cms from surface. All tests showed no or hard failure at 120cm down decomposed mfc with larger facet forms either side. Depth hoar smaller (1-3mm) than other aspects.DTT27,29 ECTN26@mfc60cm from surface. Some west aspects blown clean. Sastrugi present on broad ridges.
