Weather
Cold in the morning. Warmed up significantly once the sun came out.
Snowpack
Recent snow was not well bonded to previous snow. Total snow knee deep in places.
Avalanche
South face of citadel. Ran almost to the base of the slope. Ran much longer than any of the old slides in the area had run. Appeared to be a slide of just the most recent snow on top of previous snow. The slide started right below the summit block around 13000 feet. Went down maybe 1000 feet. Also started a small slough slide on the way down. Was in scattered trees so it wasn't large. The top 12 inches of snow slid on the previous layer. Was just below tree line so about 11500. South facing slope.
