Snowpack

Steamboat zone activity- Lots of new precip. on Buff pass since Friday. On Saturday morning, I had a 12" x 50' x 150' go right in front of me in Bitch Creek. ~9,000' NNE aspect, ran on bed surface of warm, wet, rotten may snowpack. Very fast and powerful, triggered on my 5th gentle snowboard turn. I got a report from a friend on Sunday that he triggered a much wider slide on the North face of Soda mountain, possibly 200+ feet wide, triggered after landing a large jump on his snowmobile. He safely outran the debris. I got a report from a friend who skied Little Agnes on Sunday, he said "north face couloir, 20" powder" but made no comment on stability concerns.
