single digit temps, moderate wind at and abv TL, squally snow showers. S2 for a few minutes, then blue sky pokin through.
Snowpack
15-18cm new snow on 1cm dust layer which sat on either a M/F crust or a thin pencil hard wind slab. New snow did not want to bond well to dust/crust layer. In the steeper sections of slope, the new snow readily sluffed away running full distance of path (800'). Beneath the new snow, I could get no failure on CT test, but with shovel shear I would get a Q1 pulling quite hard on shovel 85cm down within a 1F slab. This slab seemed to be fairly deep, I only dug 1 meter in a 2 meter pack. The interface where the dust and crust/slab meet was very weak and won't take much of a load if we where to get one.
