Snowpack

several observations. First is from Mayflower Gulch that has about as much snow as anywhere in Summit County 75 cm. Facets, facets ,Facets but there is a mid pack wind slab that fails at a ECTP 2 in wind effected hollows on north aspects. However, outside of terrain hollows almost 100% facets with subtle layering. Webster pass area has about half the snow and it is 100% facets. Not much hope. Even the snowmobillers are not up there. On a side note had a R4 D2 release off my garage metal roof (30 degree slope) yesterday. With the warm up coming the most activity we may see will be roof-a-lanches! ps. Thumper the giant snowshoe hare that lives in my back yard is beginning to loose his snow white fur and is beginning to show brown coloring on his sides and ears. Does he know something we don't about an early spring?
