Spring Storm Problems

Yesterday's storm deposited about 5-7cm of dense moist snow on top of the old temperature crust. In the alpine there's a potential for deeper windslabs still, especially on north facing slopes. We saw one deeper large slab avalanche that was triggered by a cornice fall, and released right down to the rocks. Cornices seem to be failing easily on days like today where it's warm and windy and there's lots of fresh storm snow blowing around at ridgetops.
