Excellent early season conditions. Rode thigh deep powder with a few face shots thrown in for good measure. Snowpack appeared fairly un consolidated at high elevation but began displaying slab characteristics, whumps, and cracking on the most recent storm layers (down 10-20cm) below 1600m. Definitely still the time of year for conservative terrain choices. Expect the whole snowpack to become more reactive with the rising temps and continuing storm.
Weather
Steady snow fall of between 1-2cm/hour. Overcast.
Snowpack
Observed several whumps and cracking on storm slab layers ( down 10 and 20cm) at 1500-1600m. Character changed to unconsolidated above 1600 as temperatures dropped. Some wind loading and transport at ridge line (predominantly SW wind)
