Great opening day on the Whistler side. Skied Sun Bowl to access the Symphony area and the prominent ridge feature off Flute. Good quality skiing. Thin sun crust in Sun Bowl in the AM. Fun wind buff over MFcr off flute. Looked into Flute Chutes but backed off due to an obvious WSL. Reentered resort via Burnt Stew/Sidewinder. Few open creeks to navigate in Symphony area and bit thin/rocky near Emerald chair but skis on all the way. Dug at ~1950 m on a N aspect on the way up Flute. HS 110cm HST 15 cm CTH 23 RP down 30 cm 25 degree slope Generally right side up and well bonded snowpack with ~5 cm basal facets Variable snow depths (90-130 cm) near ridge top on flute indicating wind transport over the last few days.
