Fresh snow 5 inches think, on top of a crust layer that when we conducted a compression test, the crust layer (5 inches down) propagated on the 2nd tap from the wrist (CTP2). There was another crust layer observed below this, that did not fracture as we continued with the 10 taps from the elbow and 10 from the shoulder. We tried to isolate the top layer to conduct a shovel shear test and the crust layer propagated upon trying to isolate it. This occurred twice.
