Face shots at Eagle Pass

We observed 20 cm. of new snow over the course of the day and moderate southwesterly winds at the eagle pass area today which skied surprisingly well on northerly aspects above 1700 m. The snow line this morning was around 1200 m.The new snow appeared to be bonding well to the old snow surface and we didn’t see any natural avalanche activity even out of very steep terrain. We skied some steep lines at treeline and could only get the new snow to sluff. Watching out for wind slabs in the alpine and managing a bit of loose dry sluffing at treeline were the two things on our minds today.
