We rode South aspects behind Needle Peak lower down from the summit. Very obvious strong wind loading (60-80km/hr) from the SW/W affecting north, north east and eastern slopes. 10cm new snow on unaffected terrain but 25+cms in loaded areas. Snow was sloughing where we were riding and had not bonded to the layer below. We were able to make the wind loaded aspects on the ridge crack so we decided to keep it simple.
