Weather
FEW>CLR, 18/8 deg. SSW>W 20-30 G 60 Summary: High clouds quickly moved out and the day was mostly dominated by clear skies. Strong winds continued with a wind chill of -15 deg. Winds tapered this afternoon.
Snowpack
Storm total: 10.0"/1.20 SWE. As a result of the SWE, wind, and cold temps the new snow was pasted in. Exposed W aspects were scoured. A few cracks observed off my ski tips targeting wind slabs but nothing significant. Crusts below the 12/27 interface are supportive and vary from 1"- 4" thick on W aspects N/BTL. SE aspects the crust was an avg. of 6" thick with Fc/ melt forms/ice forms below to the ground. HS was highly variable with loading specific to ridge lines. Summary: Some improvement but due to strong winds last night much of the snow was transported away. Thin to extremely thin snow cover is still a concern.
