Quick report
- Weather
- sunny, cold
- Snow Conditions
- powder, crusty, windAffected, hard
Went for a walk into the Trout River Bowl. Supportive crust and rock made for easy access into the base, from here we found high-quality snow and good skiing on the eastern flanks. Debris from recent avalanche activity has the rest of the bowl out of optimal conditions, but still a solid snowpack up there moving forward. On the east facing slope, we did note some soft slab instabilities, but no signs of propagation. Two other parties on their way up there today as we were on our way down at 1 PM. Suspect snow in the upper bowl stayed dry despite strong solar input today.

Failed on most recent melt/freeze crust. Wide propagation through connected features. Suspect they were from early in the week.
