0C at the parking lot at 08:00. 15-20 cm of new snow overnight and into morning. 20-30 cm deep trail breaking. Skied NE to E aspects to upper treeline at 2200m and did not observe any wind affect. Feb 22 surface hoar down 30-50 cm depending on elevation and loading. Overlying slab could be cut on localized steep unsupported features, i.e. pillows, and on steeper switchbacks but ski cuts while descending did not produce any result. We avoided most larger steep open slopes and convexities. One SZ 1 soft slab 20 cm deep x 10 m wide x 20 m long was accidentally triggered without consequence. Moist snow below 1600m becoming very heavy below 1400m. Of note, the cornice above the SE path on the Repeater/Mount Hughes is impressive and minimizing one's time spent underneath it seems like a good strategy.
