With blue skies and confidence with our decisions we were able to push far back into the Cariboos today. Widespread surface hoar growth to 15mm in sheltered locations at btl and tl and small in alp. Variable wind affect in alp with downflow slabbing some surfaces but it was drainage dependent. 30cms of low density snow on top of a well settled pack. We pushed cautiously into big terrain today and were rewarded with awesomeness. One large cornice release on steep east asp above rock band triggered a deep but confined slab above the rock band. Sz 2.5 but did not trigger slab below rock band. Some surface suffing, no other activity noted. Temps avg -6 in alp and winds were calm to light most of the day.
