New snow at Hanging Lake

Hanging Lake is getting a much needed refresh with 20 cm of new snow and counting. Winds were generally light throughout the day. The new snow is sitting on a variety of surfaces such as wind affected old snow and sun crust, but appeared to be bonding well in the areas we observed at tree line and below. (No alpine observations today) We couldn’t find any persistent weak layers in the top 200 cm. of the snowpack. The mid/lower snowpack was very well settled and strong.
