AST2 group out for a walk up Cornice ridge and over to Buzz's ridge. Dug snow profiles on a NE aspect of Buzz's ridge at 13:00 and at 2034m, on a 34 degree slope. Three profiles were dug but no results observed, and no surface hoar was found in the 30-40cm snow above the thick Feb 2nd rain crust. Skiing on the S aspect of Buzz's ridge was challenging due to a thick sun crust, but soft snow was found in low angle SE aspects from cornice ridge in moderately dense trees.
