Went out to Zoa Peak today (Wednesday). HS at the Falls Lake parking lot was about 40cm and about 150cm at ridge top. There is a melt-freeze crust with 2 or 3 cm of new snow on top of it at the parking lot. This crust tapers out above 1500m. Temps were hovering just below freezing at the parking lot and -3ºC up at Zoa ridge. The snow surface at treeline was windpressed and breakable, making for marginal skiing. Ski quality improved as we descended into the trees. Our tests produced sudden planar results as well as propogration, making us stick to supported slopes.
Weather
Winds were starting to pick up in the afternoon as we were making our way back.
Snowpack
CTM12 (SP) & CTM15 (SP) down 60 on SH size 5-7mm. ECTP18 down 60 on SH size 5-7mm. SH looks to be breaking down but are still easy to find.
