Cloud ceiling was much higher than forecasted today so we went for a bit of a recon stroll. From hermit parking we travelled to rogers glacier attempting to get eyes on sifton North. The col wasn’t holding much snow and there was a very heavy wind slab set into the one face that was ascendable. There was a low-mod North wind coming over the col and down the valley most of the day. On the way back to hermit meadows we headed east and ascended the V-notched couloir to Swiss glacier (veeeery thin at the top). We skied Swiss glacier to the lizard on the way out and it skied exceptionally. Coverage on Swiss glacier is actually shaping up quite nicely. Rogers south is pretty thin (see photo) but Swiss & Truda couloirs are looking skiable.
