April Onions

Today we rode at the Onion. There has been 30 cm of snow in the past 48 hours that has improved riding quality greatly! This is the first significant snowfall in quite some time and the new snow seems to be bonding well to the previous surface. We did not venture into the alpine today as the visibility was poor but sheltered trees were providing the best riding quality. We suspect formation of wind slabs in the alpine. Temperatures were around - 1 for most of the day with light to moderate snowfall. We observed no new avalanches.
