Top hat traverse: 2cm of new snow over the recent crusts on all aspects BTL, with several old avalanches across the trail. In the ALP the sun has formed new melt forms just under the surface. Skiing NE from the top hat/Carnarvon col we found an average of 20cm of soft snow over the March 20th crust, which made for excellent skiing. The creek is beginning to open up but still manageable. Lots of old avalanches up to size 2.5, with some newer (past 24) wet loose avalanches to size 1.
