Snowpack
The snowpack in the LH corridor remains above average. It is thinner and stronger on sunny slopes, deeper and weaker on shady ones. The basal weakness is less pronounced than most years, but recent very cold temps have rotted the upper snowpack, especially south of Rico. HS is 60-80cm. Alpine slopes in the Hope Lake area (Sheep Mt to Yellow Mt.) look more wind-beaten than the 550 corridor from wind event on 12/17/19. Lots of stripped peaks and sculpted snow. No slides noted.
