Weather

Beautiful day! Sunny, temperatures in the 20's, and moderate northwest winds.

Snowpack

~16-18 inches of snow fell near the Gladstone water treatment plant during this weekends storm. Tuesday, plums of snow were observed near and above treeline. Northwest winds loaded east and southeast facing slopes with fresh snow drifts up to 50 cm's deep. These drifts of snow were fairly nonreactive to the pressure of a ski. I only was able to produce small cracks on the steepest of drifts and the snow did not move. On sunny slopes a crust quickly formed on the surface while near-facets continue to form on shady dry slopes. The storm snow is settling slowly with the recent cold temperatures. No other cracking or collapsing observed.

Avalanche

No new avalanche observed from today.
