Weather

Clouds decreasing and solar influence noted on East and South facing slopes we travelled through. NE wind was light at ridgeline just below 12,000'.

Snowpack

No formal observations. We did several hand pits yielding well bonded snow above a thin melt freeze crust down 20-30cm. Surface snow was still cold dry powder in the shade, but was taking heat in open easterly facing terrain.

Avalanche

Numerous slab and loose avalanches were noted on a variety of aspects. The largest slab avalanches were on N-NW.
