Throughout the middle part of the S. Colony Lakes Basin, the height of snow near treeline ranged from the bare ground on South aspects to 5ft(155cm) on North aspects. Spring weather creeping over the range has accelerated the transition of the snowpack to more stable conditions on South aspects. North aspects won't be far behind with next week's rapid warm-up.
