Temperature increased to above freezing during the late morning hours. Generally clear skies with a few clouds moving by very quickly.
Snowpack
There is about 15" of new storm snow on McClure Pass since the dribs and drabs started on 1/8/2020. Total snow depth ranged from 38" at the summit snow stake to 55" on the Northeast facing slopes above Bears Gulch. At 10000' on a Northeast facing slope a long column test produced a propagating result at the storm snow interface (ECTP13 down 40cm on FCsf .5mm and some decomposing stellars). The storm snow is still soft with a hand hardness of fist to four finger minus but still was capable of propagation. Below the old/new interface the snowpack is faceted and weak. Some wind transport was observed along the ridge from moderate to strong and gusty West winds at 10000' with sublimation also occurring.
