Skies were mostly clear in the morning turning to 100% cloud cover by early aftrenoon. A few small flags of blowing snow seen from westerly winds on Sopris, but limited to the peak and no other ridgelines or on other peaks to the south.

Snowpack

The snowpack depth is generally about a meter deep at 10,000 feet. Southerlies are riddled with crust/facet combinations, supportable to skis but full depth boot penetration. On northerlies, the upper snowpack is a right side up slab that resting on a visible facet layer at about 75 cm from the ground. The rest of the snowpack is generally faceted and weak although facets are beginning to show signs of rounding. Extended Column Tests produced non-propagating moderate results ECTN16 at 75 cm from the ground
