Weather
Temperatures at the trailhead were in the teens with calm to little wind and slightly overcast. At higher elevation skinning up the west fork bowl we found light winds out of the west. Wind increased with elevation and was transporting light snow reducing visibility higher in the bowl.
Snowpack
The snow surface varied as did the snow depth. While mostly shallow the eastern south eastern aspected we skinned was approximately 2-30cm deep depending on wind loading. Some areas in the bowl had a crust layer.
Avalanche
Small persistent slab skier triggered at approximately 12,500 on east southeast aspect of west fork bowl. One skier caught and carried no injuries.
