Light cloud cover, with 4-6 inches of low density powder on a firm S/SE facing surface at 12,100 elevation.
Snowpack
PWL on SE face was noted on avy report we knew we were in avalanche terrain and flirting with SE aspect so skied one at a time with eyes on each skier.
Avalanche
2nd skier felt a couple small rocks will descending and saw crack shoot out. A small pocket of wind loaded snow pulled out but the skier had speed and quickly skied away. The small pocket stepped down and proceeded to pull out a large portion of the face to the ground along with going uphill and West. The skier had skied out into the flats and turned and watched the step down and face slide.
