Dug two pits at 9500’ on East and north aspects adjacent to the No Name and Carbonate slide paths. The pit on the East aspect was 60cm deep, the most recent snow is sitting on a sun crust with facets above and below this crust. This is the layer of concern with a ECTP on 12 taps across the block. Below this is depth hoar 4 finger hardness 4-6mm in size. The pit on the north aspect was 60 cm deep. Fist hardness at the top changing to 4 finger hardness in the middle going back to fist hardness towards the bottom. A ECT test just crumbled in the pit while doing the test.
Avalanche
Carbonate slide path had one avalanche that went towards the end of the storm as it wasn’t filled in yet. Another slide in carbonate went earlier in the storm and was filled in. Both of these are R1 D1 in size north aspect at 10,400’ in elevation. No Name slide path had 3 different avalanches fail last night or early this morning. These weren’t observed yesterday. R1 D1 in size. 2 other avalanches were seen that went earlier in the storm as these we filled in. Both of these were R1 D1 in size. East aspect, 10,400’ in elevation
