Weather
Ovc or sct all am. Consistent S-1 with short periods of S2. WNW wind at 5-10 G15 in the am. Moderate blowing snow at the ridgeline. Up to 24” drifts ATL with cross loading on NW and W and top loading on E. The PM had calmer winds, sct clouds and no snow. Below freezing temps all day, but definite warming when the Sun poked through.
Snowpack
6” new snow in sheltered areas, deeper drifts in the NTL and ATL. It looks like the storm might have started with rain. The early/mid October facets are now a 0.5” ice crust. Low density storm snow above. Some cracking in 3” wind slabs ATL in W-NW fetches.
