There was four inches of new snow from the previous day (11/29) with strong winds from the west. 11/30 was clear skies with a moderate wind from the NW. The temperature was 24F and rising.
Snowpack
There is a thin basal layer of facets on all aspects in this area. It is mostly unconsolidated near and below treeline with wind slabs on E-NE-N above tree line. The recent snow is forming wind slabs above tree line.
Avalanche
Recent natural avalanche on Mountain Boy Peak, E-NE aspect above tree line. Newly win loaded snow that stepped down into the weak basal facets near the ground.
