Looking ahead to the next storm, the currently-faceting surface snow could be the most likely failure layer. With about 12 inches of snow depth, this surface layer is better connected across terrain. On east to south through west-facing slopes, there is no old snow from the ~Oct 20 storm. Melt-freeze crusts are likely to form at the surface with sun on Thursday and Friday.
