Cloudy with lingering snow showers. New snow accumulations in this area added another inch or so totaling 5-6" combined with yesterday's storm. With calm winds at ridgeline and relatively mild temps, it was quite pleasant.
Snowpack
I dug on a north-facing slope around 11700' to have a quick look at the structure and assess the new/old snow interface. There was 15cm of new snow from the past two days sitting on a very thin almost imperceptible crust, over some very small facets. These weak structures failed in stability tests, but did not propagate. Below this, the snowpack largely consists of rounded facets 4 finger to 1 finger in hardness. The new soft slab in this area is small, and well bonded on most aspects. This could be more problematic in drifted areas, but no instabilities were observed in the part of the zone.
