Weather

Variably cloudy to begin, turning mostly sunny after 1:30 pm. Generally cool, with a stiff northwest wind above treeline.

Snowpack

Our most recent storm only brought a few inches of new snow: insufficient to change the snowpack much. However, persistent northwest winds have blown strong enough to modestly load lee easterly slopes above treeline. Newly-formed east facing cornices proved touchy, but did not trigger slides on the slopes below when they failed. Yesterday's snow fell on a mostly stable snowpack, though we did see a couple small slides in the new snow.

Avalanche

A few small (R1D1) slides ran in the new snow on easterly terrain above treeline in the past 24 hours.
