First recon day up in the Spearhead Glacier. With the chair and t-bars closed took a bit more effort to get below the East Col. 3 nice gentleman set up the skin up to the col so it was pretty easy. On the top it was windy and cold, the shoulder was cleaned by the wind almost to the ground. On the other hand, good conditions to get down to the glacier with really deep but quality powder in all that area (Ski pen 40-50cm). I could count 2 open crevasses and the rest is filled, although a bunch of depressions are visible. Skiing down Husume was probably the best I ever experienced, only a bit of wind slab on the sides of the couloir. The whole snowpack felt well bonded and consolidating fast. But at the bottom of Husume, entering the glacier run, we hit the 1900 meters and the snow changed drastically, super wet and heavy. It made the ski out quite challenging until we could get to the groomers. Snow quality is basically really good in the alpine, shelter areas have a lot of powder snow but exposed areas were hammered by the wind the last couple days. Stay safe out there.
